On behalf of the Fogarty International Center at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), the following funding opportunities, notices and announcements may be of interest to those working in the field of global health research. Updates are typically distributed once a week.

Funding Opportunities

NIH Notices of Special Interest (NOSIs) that may be of interest to global health researchers.

  • Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Synthetic Biology for Biomedical Applications (NOT-EB-20-017)
    Applies to application due dates January 19, 2021 through January 18, 2024

Information related to opportunities from other organizations focusing on global health and foreign collaboration.

  • Soulsby Foundation Traveling Fellowships support a project, normally overseas, in a field related to “One Health." Applicants should hold a degree in either human or veterinary medicine, and be affiliated with a relevant UK, EU, U.S. or Australasian academic institution.
    Application due date: January 31, 2021

  • Notice of NIH Participation in Smart Health and Biomedical Research in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Data Science, a collaboration between the NIH and the National Science Foundation (NSF) (NOT-OD-21-011)
    Note: For NIH, indirect costs on foreign subawards/subcontracts will be limited to eight percent.
  • Prohibition on Expending NIH Grant Funds for Covered Telecommunications Equipment or Services (NOT-OD-21-030)
