New Funding Opportunities for Dissemination and Implementation Research

NIH has released three new funding opportunities to support studies that will identify, develop, and/or test strategies for overcoming barriers to the adoption, adaptation, integration, sustainability, scale-up, and spread of evidence-based interventions, practices, programs, tools, treatments, guidelines, and policies.

Global Perspectives on Climate Change and Humanitarian Health: What’s happening in the research space?

As part of The Global Forum on Humanitarian Health Research (GFH2R) join us for an upcoming webinar hosted by Elrha and the Fogarty International Center, in collaboration with Canada's International Development Research Centre, focused on humanitarian health research in the context of climate change.

Webinar for Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases Funding Opportunities

The Fogarty International Center will host a pre-submission technical assistance webinar for Implementation Research for Multimorbidity Management in NCDs in LMICs and US Tribal Populations (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) (PAR-25-213) and Implementation Research for Multimorbidity Management in NCDs in LMICs and US Tribal Populations (R61/R33 Clinical Trial Required) (PAR-25-223) related to the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) program on November 12, 2024.

The webinar will cover the purpose and objectives of these NOFOs, application requirements, and budget considerations. Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit questions prior to the event.

Supplement for Capacity Building related to Bioethics Research

NIH Office of Science Policy (OSP) is offering administrative supplements for research focused on bioethical issues, aiming to support evidence-based policy development and to build bioethics research capacity. This funding targets projects that examine ethical challenges linked to NIH priorities, such as public health crises, emerging technologies, and patient data use. The initiative encourages projects exploring patient data sharing, real-world data ethics, and patient engagement strategies, along with topics on bioethics education and diversity in innovation.

The John E. Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking exceptional candidates with an MD, PhD or equivalent doctoral in biomedical science and senior-level research and research administration experience in one or more scientific areas related to global health for the position of Director of the Division of International Training and Research. Open to U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, and non-U.S. citizens eligible for a valid work authorization.

Training Opportunities

NIH to host course on ethical and regulatory aspects of clinical research

This course is offered to anyone interested or involved in the ethics of clinical research with human subjects. Participants represent multiple disciplines including research teams, IRB members, physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, administrative staff, students, and others. The course meets Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. ET (USA) from September 25 to November 6, 2024.

Two-Part Virtual Event, NIH Grants Process Primer: Application to Award

NIH is hosting a two-part event that will provide participants with the basics to help you in your role working with the NIH grants process from application preparation to award. In Part One NIH experts will introduce participants to the NIH as an organization, key components of finding the right funding opportunity, the NIH team, application, and more. Manuscript, Abstract & Poster Submission Opportunities

  • The Pan African Medical Journal is welcoming papers for a special edition related to all aspects of mpox in Africa, including epidemiology, research, clinical practice, outbreak investigation and response, and other relevant mpox data and activities in Africa.

  • The Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) Forum will be a 3-day event, held in Nairobi, Kenya between 7-9 May 2025, and co-hosted with the African Population Health Research Center (APHRC). Elrha is inviting humanitarian health research, policy, and practice experts, with experience relevant to the key objectives and themes of the Forum, to contribute to making it a stimulating, engaging, and inclusive event.

  • The International Cancer Screening Network (ICSN) is now accepting abstract submissions for ICSN 2025, which will be held June 18-20, 2025 in Aarhus, Denmark. The theme of ICSN 2025 is "Shaping the Future of Cancer Screening." Submitters are encouraged to submit abstracts that explore topics relating to one of the 10 abstracts themes.

  • The Abstract Submission portal for INTEREST 2025, being held May 13-16, 2025, in Windhoek, Namibia, is now open. Successful candidates will be invited for an oral, mini-oral, or poster presentation.
