Program Overview

Fogarty has partnered with the Fulbright Program, the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government, to promote the expansion of research in public health and clinical research in resource-limited settings for medical and graduate students.

Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowships inaugurated in 2011 with fellows in sub-Saharan Africa, expanding to include countries in Asia and Latin America. The program plans to support up to 10 Fellows for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The Fulbright-Fogarty U.S. scholar program is no longer active. From 2012 through 2016 the program hosted postdoctoral researchers at Fogarty-affiliated sites in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Asia.
