Program Overview

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to solicit Research Project Grant (R01) applications for up to 3 years of support to develop and test interventions to reduce the impact of HIV-associated stigma on the prevention and treatment of HIV infection and/or AIDS, and on the quality of life of People Living with HIV and/or AIDS (PLWH). The FOA will also support interventions to address the multiple intersecting stigmas and measurement of the stigmas at individual levels.

Proposed collaborative exploratory research is expected to help build the capacity for full research programs by improving the research environment and strengthening LMIC individual and institutional research capabilities in the proposed research areas. Applicants should explicitly address the needs of collaborating LMIC institutions to develop capacity for carrying out research in this field, and plans for sustaining the research activity.
