  • The Duke University's Center for Spirituality, Theology and Health is offering $3,700 scholarships for graduate students from low- and middle-income countries or other economically disadvantaged settings to attend a 5-day workshop on conducting research in religion, spirituality, and health. The workshop will be held August 11–15, 2025, and scholarships will cover tuition, airfare, hotel accommodations, and meals. Apply as soon as possible to allow time for visa processing.

  • The Next Generation Healers Scholarship is open to students who are currently working while pursuing their degree in healthcare fields such as nursing, psychology, social work, counseling, or any related profession. This scholarship is offered on a semesterly basis, with each award granting $1,000 to support working students in healthcare fields. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)’s Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) program allows medical and public health students to pursue short-term learning opportunities in locations away from their home institutions. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The CFHI Thomas Hall Virtual Program Scholarship is made available by Dr. Thomas Hall, a leader in global health issues who has spent much of his life working to improve the health of low-resource countries. The opportunity is open to any current student enrolled in an undergraduate, post-bacc, graduate, or post-graduate program who has demonstrated commitment to global health.

  • The AAAS Mani L. Bhaumik Award for Public Engagement with Science is open for applications. The award was established to recognize scientists and engineers who demonstrate excellence in their contribution to public engagement with science. The recipient receives a monetary prize of $10,000, a commemorative plaque, and recognition at the AAAS Annual Meeting. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Hani Najm Global Scholar Award was established to encourage the sharing of knowledge between international cardiology professionals to better combat the devastating effects of cardiovascular disease worldwide. It aims to provide early career cardiologists residing in low- to middle-income countries the opportunity to elevate their training by participating in the ACC Annual Scientific Session and completing an Observership Program in the United States. Applicant must reside and practice in a low- to middle-income country.

  • The American Brain Foundation’s Cure One, Cure Many Award in Neuroinflammation is accepting applications. The award will be carried out through two types of grants: Breakthrough Grants and Catalyst Grants. Both types of grants support high-risk, high reward and translational research with a focus on clinical impact. This application is open to U.S. and international public and private non-profit entities and biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies.

  • The Rhodes Scholarships for Global is open for applications. The Global Scholarships allow eligible candidates from the rest of the world (i.e. not strongly connected to any other Rhodes Scholarships Constituency) to apply for a Scholarship, subject to nomination.

  • The U.S.-Africa Frontiers of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Symposium 2026 is open for applications. This program brings together outstanding young scientists, engineers, and medical professionals from the United States and the member countries of the African Union for a series of symposia to discuss exciting advances and opportunities in their fields. Must be employed in the U.S. or one of the African Union member countries, but citizenship of the country of residence is not required

  • The Ovarian Cancer Research Program: Early-Career Investigator Award supports the addition of new ECIs to the unique, interactive virtual Clinical Trial Academy that provides intensive mentoring, national networking, collaborations, and a peer group for junior faculty. Pre-application is required; application submission is by invitation only. Non-US applicants are allowed.

The Plasmodium Genetic Epidemiology collaborative is offering a free course titled From Data to Insight – A Practical Introduction to Interpreting Malaria Genetics for Surveillance to equip researchers, students, and public health officials with knowledge and skills needed to effectively use malaria genetic data in epidemiological research and public health decision-making.

PAHO Offers Obesity and NCD Prevention Course

The Pan American Health Organization is offering a free course on Regulatory Policies to Prevent Obesity and Diet-related Noncommunicable Diseases. The course's purpose is to strengthen the learner's capacity to design and advance effective regulatory policies that reduce the demand for and offer of ultra-processed and processed products to prevent obesity and diet-related NCDs in the Region of the Americas.

Call for Papers: Better Care for NCDs

PAHO’s focus of this call for papers is on the main NCDs (cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases) for which outcomes can be improved through primary health care interventions. This special issue of the Pan American Journal of Public Health seeks to document the results and outcomes of these regional primary health care strengthening efforts for NCDs.
