Project Description

Children are both vulnerable to air pollution exposure and more susceptible to adverse health effects from such exposure. This study would be the first to explore the dual role of indoor/outdoor air pollution exposure and risk in Rwandan children while also considering the composition of measured pollutants. Such research is beneficial because it can more accurately demonstrate the health risks in vulnerable populations while simultaneously direct interventions that target dominants sources of hazardous air pollutants and will explore different intervention and mitigation strategies to reduce exposure, leading to the development of clear policy recommendations.
