Project Description
Non-malarial acute undifferentiated febrile illnesses (AUFIs) continue to be significant causes of morbidity and mortality in Latin America, and the lack of definition of the underlying etiologies and involved vectors has prevented the development of appropriate public health interventions. Over the past five years, this project has completed advanced training of Colombian Faculty members, PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. This project will implement new strategies as we continue to build capacity and train investigators from six collaborating institutions in Colombia to address these important and frequently lethal diseases.
