Project Description
This project will build capacity in cell and gene therapy (CGT) for HIV cure in Uganda and sub-Saharan Africa, which harbors the largest population of people living with HIV in the world. This will be accomplished by education and research training at multiple degree levels across three local institutions in partnership with multiple U.S.-based institutions with expertise in CGT for HIV cure. Altogether this capacity will create the foundation for policy, advocacy and a center of excellence to disseminate CGT for HIV cure across sub- Saharan Africa.
