Project Description

More than 50% of the global population with HIV lives in sub-Saharan Africa, with a high cardiometabolic disease burden. This exploratory study will, for the first time in the context of sub-Saharan Africa, provide evidence of mitochondrial damage in people living with HIV and cardiometabolic disease. This will help identify at-risk popu- lations, and flag therapies with mitochondrial toxicity.
