Project Description
As anti-retroviral therapy has become more widely available, a greater proportion of people with HIV globally, and in Southern Africa specifically, die from non-communicable diseases, especially aggressive B-cell lymphomas. However, diagnostic tools necessary to classify lymphomas to guide appropriate and available therapies are not widely accessible. Leveraging unique clinical and laboratory expertise, we will adapt low-cost nanopore sequencing and apply machine learning methods to enable cost-effective genomic diagnosis of HIV associated lymphomas in Malawi.
