Project Description
HIV incidence and mortality are increasing markedly in Georgia despite many available evidence-based interventions to prevent HIV, which are sub-optimally implemented due to challenges in delivery in key populations like people who inject drugs (PWID) and men who have sex with men (MSM), where the epidemic is concentrated. The Georgian Implementation Science Fogarty Training (GIFT) Program is designed with short-, medium-, and long-term training to address the current implementation gap through training of four faculty and six doctoral students at Ilia State University (in collaboration with Yale University), creating a regional resource and training hub and to provide a summer bootcamp training program each year for local and regional implementers.
