Project Description

Household air pollution is a major health threat during pregnancy in developing countries like Bangladesh as a result of uses biomass fuels for cooking by women. By quantifying the adverse pregnancy outcomes and pneumonia in the first year of life among traditional biomass fuel users compared to women using improved cook stoves or liquid gas stoves, this study will help to promote the use of cleaner fuels aimed at improving better maternal and child health.
