Fogarty partnership with Fulbright provides new overseas training opportunities

The Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowships are a partnership designed to promote the expansion of research in public health and clinical research in resource-limited settings. The Fulbright Program, part of the Department of State's Office of Academic Exchanges Programs, is administered by the Institute of International Education.

In 2011, the program's first group of fellows traveled to locations in sub-Saharan Africa for mentored clinical research experiences. By the 2012-2013 application cycle, the initiative was expanded to include countries in Asia and Latin America.

The initial fellows participated in research projects in Botswana, Malawi and South Africa. Here are their stories.
