Americas and the Caribbean region news, resources and funding for global health researchers
Fogarty and NIH have a long history of supporting medical science advances in Latin America and the Caribbean, which faces many of the same chronic disease challenges found in the U.S. as well as the perennial threat of infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, and Chagas disease. Over the decades, Fogarty has helped build capacity in the region, funding cutting-edge research at institutions like GHESKIO in Haiti and Cayetano Heredia University in Peru.
