Register for the 2024 Barmes Global Health Lecture, June 5
The Fogarty International Center and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) present the 2024 David E. Barmes Global Health Lecture 2024: “Global HIV/AIDS Response: Then, Now, Future,” by Ambassador Dr. John Nkengasong, U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Senior Bureau Official for Global Health Security and Diplomacy. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, June 5 at 1 p.m. ET (USA) on the NIH campus and virtually.
NIDCD Invites Input on Global Health Research
The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders has released a Request for Information (RFI) inviting input from all interested parties on NIDCD’s future research directions in Global Health. NIDCD requests input specifically focused on the NIDCD mission of advancing the science of communication to improve lives.
West African Grant Writing Workshop
NIAID and the Government of Ghana are collaborating to convene a series of grant writing workshops for researchers in West Africa. The workshops aim to teach West African investigators best practices for writing and submitting grant proposals to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

- The Clinical Group of
the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) would like to invite clinicians from low and low-middle income countries to apply for a travel award to attend the ASTMH Annual Meeting. The travel award will include complimentary registration for the meeting as well as $2,500 US to cover airfare (economy/coach class), lodging and meals for one person.
