The National Institutes of Health (NIH), the world’s premier biomedical research institution, is seeking applications from exceptional candidates for the exciting position of Director, Fogarty International Center (FIC). The FIC advances the NIH mission by supporting global health research conducted by U.S. and international investigators, facilitating partnerships between health research institutions in the U.S. and abroad, and training the next generation of scientists to address global health needs.

  • The Longitude Prize on ALS is an initiative of the non-profit Challenge Works, the Motor Neuron Disease Association and partners. The Prize is an international program that seeks to propel the use of AI-based approaches to transform therapeutic discovery for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the most common form of motor neuron disease. The Prize is open to organizations worldwide, including academic groups, companies or non-profits.
    Application deadline: December 3, 2025
  • The Development of Continuous C-Peptide Monitoring Technologies grant supports academic and industry researchers to develop continuous C-peptide monitoring (CCPM) technologies, including early-stage sensor development, preclinical validation, and early-stage clinical evaluation. Projects aim to enable real-time, user-friendly assessment of beta cell function, supporting research and evaluation of disease-modifying and cell-based therapies. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The 2025 ISN Early-Career Researcher Awards are proud to recognize outstanding early-career researchers from around the world. The KI-ISN Early Career Researcher Awards honor original contributions that drive innovation and impact in nephrology. Four awards are presented: two in basic or translational science and two in clinical science.
    Application deadline: December 5, 2025
  • The Misophonia Research Consortium Award supports researchers working in collaboration to accelerate scientific progress on misophonia research. Applications are open to independent researchers at qualifying research-based institutions who currently hold a doctoral-level degree. Open to applicants worldwide.
    Letters of intent deadline: December 5, 2025
  • The International Scholar Awards from the St. Baldrick’s Foundation supports researchers from low-and middle-income countries (as classified by the World Bank) to prepare them to fill specific stated needs in an area of childhood cancer research upon returning to their country of origin. The sponsoring institution must be in a country included in the World Bank Classification as a high-income country (e.g. the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, etc.). Applications are limited to one applicant per host institution. The application must be submitted by the host institution.

  • The Distinguished Dissertation in Qualitative Inquiry Award recognizes distinguished dissertations that address a topic in the field of qualitative research methods. Nominees must have completed dissertations no earlier than three years before. Open to applicants worldwide.
    Application deadline: December 8, 2025
  • The Distinguished Early Career Contributions in Qualitative Inquiry Award recognizes an early-career individual who has made outstanding contributions to qualitative research methods. The contribution may be in academic, clinical, government, industry, or other settings. Nominees must have completed their dissertation no earlier than nine years before. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The MQ Mental Health Research Fellows Award supports brilliant early-career scientists globally, encouraging them to ask challenging questions to advance mental health research. Applications are open to mental health researchers, working in any scientific discipline who are within 3 to 7 of their postdoc.
    Letters of intent deadline: December 12, 2025
  • The 2025 CARB-X will accept applications for cycle 2 of its 2025 funding solicitation for products to address drug-resistant bacterial infections. Applications will be accepted for therapeutics for infections caused by Gram-negative pathogens and diagnostics for typhoid fever for low-resource settings. Eligibility criteria have been updated for cycle 2. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Science Communication Award - Rare Disease Advances is a science communication competition. The Award seeks to promote the science communication efforts of researchers working on rare diseases. Open to applicants worldwide.
    Submission deadline: December 15, 2025
  • The 2026 Genetics Prize recognizes individuals from anywhere in the world who have made original discoveries in the fields of genetic function, regulation, transmission, or variation or in genomic organization. Nominators must be individuals who are active in or have an appreciation for contemporary genetic research and study.
    Nomination deadline: December 15, 2025
  • The 2026 Neuroscience Prize recognizes individuals from anywhere in the world who have conducted highly distinguished research in the field of the brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nervous system. Nominators must be individuals who are active in or have an appreciation for contemporary neuroscience research and study.
