Project Description
This project seeks to develop a real-time test that can detect both HIV and Hepatitis B infection with a single test. The test will be able to detect types of HIV and Hepatitis B viruses that are unique to Mali and West Africa. The test will also be adapted to the low resources, limited equipment, supplies, and technicians in a low- and middle-income country (LMIC) such as Mali. This project aims to become a leader in the development of tests to diagnose and monitor infections but are adapted for use in LMICs.
