Project Description

In Uganda, the prevalence of hypertension among adult persons living with HIV is 27.9% yet only 5% achieve control. Integrating screening and treatment of hypertension in HIV care is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for dual control; however, there is limited implementation of this guideline. The goal of this project is to conduct an implementation science study to integrate hypertension screening and treatment into patient-centered community HIV differentiated service delivery models in Uganda using the WHO HEARTS protocol to improve hypertension control in persons living with HIV.
