						Project Description
This research is relevant to public health and the mission of NIH because the development of bioethics scholars in underdeveloped countries is critical to the health and well-being of its citizens. The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the need for bioethics experts to address the many ethical issues before them: staffing requirements to care for the public, triage and allocation of scarce resources, public health infection control measures, and end-of-life issues, among others. We will train a total of 6 doctoral candidates to address the critical shortage of highly trained bioethics scholars to address the demand in Tanzania and the region at large.
