Project Description

The South African Research Ethics Training Initiative (SARETI) is the oldest and most established Africa-based masters program in the field of health research ethics. The new SARETI Ph.D. program equips African research ethics scholars with advanced theoretical, applied and leadership skills to improve health research systems in Africa, improve effectiveness and efficiency of ethics review systems, and maximize the social value of research in Africa through research ethics leadership and scholarship. Intensive on-site training and home-based research work, including attendance of the Johns Hopkins Intensive Global Bioethics Program, will be facilitated by our experienced local and international multidisciplinary faculty.
