Project Description
Although tuberculosis (TB) preventive therapy (TPT) reduces the risk of TB disease among people living with HIV by up to 60%, adherence to TPT regimens, including three-months of weekly isoniazid with rifapentine (3HP) remains suboptimal, with nearly 20% of PLHIV not completing the TPT course. Strategies for improving adherence to TPT remain limited. This project aims to develop a dipstick-guided adherence counseling intervention, assess its effectiveness on improving adherence and 3HP completion in a randomized controlled trial and assess its acceptability, feasibility, fidelity, and cost.
