Project Description

This training program will leverage the existing cardiometabolic diseases (CMD) and public health research and teaching platforms/resources at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to support CMD capacity building at Mahidol University (MU). Considering the growing epidemic of CMD in Thailand, this research training will apply life-course conceptual framework and focus on occupational, environmental, and lifestyle factors of CMD. With highly individualized and targeted training and support, PhD students and junior faculty/researchers at MU will develop and establish leadership roles in a multidisciplinary CMD education and research center which will provide consultation, training, and leadership in state-of-the-art CMD research in Thailand and throughout Southeast Asia.
