Project Description
Collectively, neurologic and psychiatric disorders account for over a quarter of the global burden of disease, with disproportionately high rates of illness in low-middle income countries where expert resources are scarce. In order to create the expertise necessary to develop effective treatments, prevention and mitigation strategies, and public policy, we have developed a brain health research training program in Rwanda. This program will create the regional expertise and instrumentation needed to catalyze a sustainable brain health research program in Sub-Saharan Africa.
