Project Description

The burden of disease caused by trauma and injury in Lebanon and the Eastern Mediterranean Region is disproportionately high compared to other regions around the world. Yale University and the American University of Beirut seek to build upon their existing successful training and research collaborations to develop a new program to address the severe public health impact of trauma and injury by strengthening capacity at multiple levels of the trauma and injury research ecosystem. This comprehensive program aims to focus on theoretical and applied skill development; evidence-based policy development; and research and career development mentorship to enable a new cadre of researchers to launch successful career as independent trauma and injury investigators.
