Fogarty International Research Collaboration Award (FIRCA) Program Evaluation

Fogarty conducted an evaluation of the Fogarty International Research Collaboration Award (FIRCA) program. Initiated in 1991, the program supported 3-year research partnerships between practicing scientists and physicians in the U.S. and their counterparts abroad. Following the completion of the program's first decade in 2002, Fogarty initiated an independent program evaluation to document the performance of the program, examine its overall operations as they have evolved over time, and make recommendations concerning the future.

The report of the evaluation includes findings and recommendations in the areas of collaboration; capacity building; and program planning, management and partnerships.
