The Framework for the NIH-Wide Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2027-2031 is now posted online!

The framework articulates NIH’s priorities in three key areas: biomedical and behavioral science research; scientific research capacity; and scientific research operations. All – stakeholders and the general public -- are encouraged to review the Request for Information (RFI): Inviting Comments and Suggestions on a Framework for the NIH-Wide Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2027-2031 (NOT-OD-26-047) and share their feedback using the webform by May 16, 2026.

Join Fogarty at the 2026 Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) annual meeting

The Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) will hold its annual conference on April 9-12, 2026 with Pre-Conference Workshops that are free and open to the public on April 9th. Fogarty's acting director, Dr. Peter Kilmarx will participate as a speaker at this year's meeting. Also check out the Center's booth.

  • The Nurse Grants support ESE Nurse members to attend the annual European Congress of Endocrinology (ECE) in person. Applicant must be a fully paid-up ESE Member for 2026. The grant provides up to €250 for Nurses based in the Czech Republic and up to €400 for Nurses based in other countries.

  • The Basic Science Meeting Grants support ESE members working in basic research to attend the annual European Congress of Endocrinology (ECE).

  • The Africa CDC seeks applicants for a six month Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) fellowship aimed at providing a pathway for developing a cadre of skilled workforce that is capable of initiating and leading emergency management programs that include timely detection and response to emergencies whenever they occur. African public health professionals who are working within government institutions are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • The International Travel Awards aims to encourage participation and to facilitate attendance of international members and students at the annual Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) conventions. Applicants are not required to present research at the conference.

  • The Early Career Travel Awards: Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) of the American Psychological Association (APA) supports early career scholars to present at the SPSSI conference. Applications are open to individuals who are SPSSI members and have obtained a relevant Master’s or Ph.D. degree within 10 years. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Video Contest from the Lasker Foundation invites early-career scientists and clinicians from the United States and worldwide to showcase their passion for biology and medicine. Participants should demonstrate how their creativity and innovative thinking can help address some of the most pressing questions in these fields. The Contest aims to build skills in communicating important medical and scientific issues to broad audiences.

  • The Scholarships to Enhance and Empower the Development of Scientists Workshop is a mentoring and career-enhancement program designed to support diverse early-career neuroscientists in their transition to and retention in academic careers. The program includes an intensive workshop followed by 6–10 months of individualized career-development coaching, with structured mentoring focused on strengthening grant preparation and submission to major funding bodies.   • The High Impact Pilot Project Award on myasthenia gravis and related neuromuscular junction disorders from the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA) supports researchers worldwide. This award supports research that will demonstrate proof-of-concept to support the feasibility of a paradigm shift, test a new research hypothesis, or otherwise advance the development of safe and effective treatments for myasthenia gravis through five broad research priorities. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Think Forward Foundation Career Development Award supports early-career researchers to pursue impactful research focused on advancing precision medicine in breast cancer treatment. At the start of the Award term on July 1, 2026, the recipient must hold the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent at an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world and have started their first independent faculty position within the past 6 years from the grant start date. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Nature Awards for Inspiring Women in Science recognizes the scientific achievement of women researchers around the world. The Award is presented in partnership with The Estée Lauder Companies. The Awardee should have made substantial scientific achievements, demonstrated potential to lead their independent research groups, and contributed to mentoring other women. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Fondazione Pezcoller Award recognizes young cancer researchers with awards at the 37th Pezcoller Symposium in Italy. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • AACR-Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Research Fellowship supports innovative research projects with direct applicability and relevance to ILC and to help establish a successful career path in the field. Applicants must hold a mentored research position with the title of postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow, or equivalent. Applicants must be AACR members. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Division 17 Counseling Psychology Grants support not-for-profit activities designed to enhance the science and practice of counseling psychology. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • Cures Within Reach has released a Request for Proposals (RFP), supporting clinical repurposing trials led by under-resourced researchers and clinicians based in low and lower-middle income countries (LMICs). Projects can be in any unsolved disease and must repurpose existing off-patent drugs, nutraceuticals and/or indigenous medicines in a new indication.

  • The Leadership & Development Awards Programme supports emerging talent in endocrinology, helping early career professionals develop into future leaders of the discipline.   • The Research Grants from the Osteosynthesis and Trauma Care Foundation support researchers in promising research projects in the field of orthopedic trauma surgery worldwide. The main topic for the 2026 grant proposals is New Fixation Technologies. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme – SSA supports postdoctoral researchers in sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa, to go on a ‘Cooperation Visit’ lasting three months to an institute in Germany.

  • The Kyle Bryant Translational Research Award supports qualified investigators on research projects on Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a genetic, progressive neuromuscular disease. Proposals should focus on accelerating completion of translational stage activities necessary for advancement to clinical study of a therapeutic candidate or development of novel tools that address a critical bottleneck to the discovery or development of therapies. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The Keith Michael Andrus Cardiac Award supports qualified investigators on research projects on cardiomyopathy associated with Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a genetic, progressive neuromuscular disease. Open to applicants worldwide.

  • The PROBio-LatAm Fellowships support young Latin American researchers in training in European Laboratories. Applications are open to PhD students to carry out research work that is a part of their PhD thesis. And also open to Latin American postdoctoral fellows and new researchers (not more than 5 years after obtaining the PhD degree) to carry out experiments that require special techniques and expertise or to facilitate other forms of scientific collaboration or advanced training.
