Apply for the 2027-2028 Fogarty Global Health Fellows
The Fogarty Global Health Fellows program, formally the Northern/Pacific Global Health Leadership, Education, and Development for Early-Career Researchers (NPGH LEADERs) LAUNCH Fellowship Program, provides 12 months of mentored global health research training for doctoral students and postdoctoral trainees in the health professions.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, or citizens or permanent residents of Cameroon, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nepal, Peru, Thailand, or Uganda. Applicants must have a mentor at a participating U.S. consortium institution and a mentor at an approved international partner site, propose research at an approved site, and be available for full-time research beginning in July 2027.
The program provides a monthly stipend plus research and travel support. Research-project funding is limited to 7,500 USD for U.S. predoctoral fellows and 10,000 USD for U.S. and LMIC postdoctoral fellows. Awards are contingent on continued program funding.
Global Mental Health Care Access and Affordability Benchmark 2027
The Global Mental Health Care Access and Affordability Benchmark 2027 compares practical access to mental-health care across national systems using evidence on service availability, workforce, coverage and reimbursement, provider fees and affordability relative to local incomes. It includes harmonized country profiles, transparent source documentation, and reproducibility material. The benchmark, which is provided by Therapy Near Me Pty Ltd, is intended to provide system context around global mental-health research.

Curative Therapies Research provides funding for researchers worldwide to promote accelerated development of curative therapies for Fragile X, including – but not limited to – gene therapy, gene repair, gene reactivation, protein replacement, mRNA therapeutics and targeted ASO treatments. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: Applications accepted on a rolling basis. - The
SRSF Mentored Collaboration Grant supports trainees who have limited sleep or circadian mentoring options in their chosen field of interest to mentors who can provide rich, face-to-face opportunities in state-of-the-art research techniques and methods. The mentor-mentee relationship is expected to extend beyond the face-to-face portion through ongoing phone or web-based meetings over the course of the funded year, with the goal of producing a research product such as an abstract for the SLEEP Meeting, a manuscript, and/or a grant proposal. The collaboration may take place in the United States or abroad, provided both participants remain active Sleep Research Society (SRS) Members. Open to applicants worldwide.

Rare-to-Common Neurodegeneration Impact Prize supports outstanding cooperative research projects at the interface between the rare childhood dementia CLN3 (Batten Disease) and more common neurodegenerative diseases (ND’s) such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s disease, as well as aging. The call is open to researchers based in German and international institutions.
Project outline deadline: August 31, 2026 - The
William H. Harris, MD Award recognizes an individual based on the quality and scientific merit of a paper accepted for publication in the Journal of Orthopaedic Research®. The topic of the paper must be related to basic and/or clinical research involving the hip. All types of research related to hip reconstructive surgery (i.e. biological, mechanical, clinical, etc.) are appropriate topics for the paper. Open to applicants worldwide.
Project outline deadline: August 31, 2026 - The
SRSF Small Research Grant supports the research of trainees and early career investigators who otherwise lack the institutional resources to support new studies or a sustained record of external funding. The program is intended to provide seed funding to support training and research, ultimately helping individuals successfully apply for or complete career development grants, such as K-awards. Funding for some grantees is provided in partnership with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation (AASMF). The grant is open to all levels of trainees (undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs) and early career investigators and requires institutional affiliation at the time of submission and throughout the grant period.
Application deadline: August 31, 2026 - The
Milestones to a Cure funding opportunity from the National Psoriasis Foundation supports innovative, high-impact research that identifies pivotal scientific questions and accelerates progress toward a cure for psoriatic disease. Applications are open to independent psoriasis researchers worldwide who are actively responsible for the proposed research and eligible to apply as principal investigators under the policies of their host institutions.
Letters of intent deadline: August 31, 2026 - The
CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Cancer Research Institute funds promising young scientists working in immunology whose projects seek to address challenges in cancer. Candidates must have less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience. All research must be conducted at nonprofit institutions in the USA or worldwide. There are no restrictions on citizenship nor location of the host institution. There are two application rounds per year, with closing dates on March 1 and September 1.
Application deadline: September 1, 2026 - The
Uncle Kory Foundation Seed Grant Program supports innovative early-stage brain cancer research. The grants are intended to help investigators generate preliminary data, launch new research initiatives and advance promising projects toward future external funding. The principal investigator must hold an independent research or faculty appointment and be authorized by the institution to lead externally funded research. Applications are accepted from academic institutions worldwide. Industry, biotechnology companies and other private organizations are not eligible.

Global Science Summit Programme 2026 supports researchers working novel, interdisciplinary, and collaborative science-based solutions, enabled by digital technologies and health data, to current global challenges within cardiometabolic diseases. Applications are open to researchers worldwide, with collaborations between 2-3 research groups.
Application deadline: September 1, 2026 - The
PSC Support Seed Funding Awards support projects designed to generate pilot or proof-of-concept data that can lead to a competitive application to a large-scale funding body. Projects are expected to run for approximately 12 to 18 months. Open to applicants worldwide.

Alzheimer's Disease Research Request for Proposals supports U.S. and international researchers pursuing pioneering research to improve understanding, prevention, and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Open to applicants worldwide.

Capacity Building in International Dementia Research (CBIDR) Program supports institutions and organizations in Low- and Middle-Income countries (LMIC). Proposals should fill current gaps in the research infrastructure and enable building larger and more sustainable portfolios. The Project Lead must be a full-time faculty member or full-time paid employee of the organization.

Outstanding Research Team Prize recognizes collaborative research teams in sub-Saharan Africa and Europe working on infectious diseases within the scope of Global Health EDCTP3. The prize celebrates teams whose work demonstrates scientific excellence, strong collaboration and meaningful impact in advancing global health research.

Accelerating the Development of Combined CGM–Pump Devices supports research and development projects that address key technical, clinical, and translational challenges related to combined CGM–pump devices, with the goal of accelerating their development and improving outcomes for people living with T1D. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 2, 2026 - The ESCMID Individual Research Grants 2027 from the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) support early-career research projects focused on fungal, parasitic, or viral infections and diseases. Eligible projects may include laboratory investigations, clinical studies, experimental animal studies, or a combination of these approaches. Applicants must serve as principal investigator, hold a valid ESCMID Young Scientist Membership or ESCMID low- or middle-income country membership, and hold an MD, MBBS, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent degree, or be actively enrolled in a PhD program. ESCMID applies additional career-stage limits to applicants using the LMIC membership pathway.
Application deadline: September 2, 2026 - The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration's 2027 Holloway Postdoctoral Fellowships support innovative basic, translational, clinical, outcomes or public-health research on frontotemporal degeneration disorders. Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D. or similar doctoral degree and conduct postdoctoral research at an academic institution, teaching hospital or nonprofit research institute. U.S. and international postdoctoral investigators are eligible.

Cure SMA Request for Proposals for Spinal Muscular Atrophy Research Projects supports research grants and postdoctoral fellowships that advance understanding of spinal muscular atrophy disease pathology and identify new therapeutic strategies. Priority areas include molecular, cellular and biochemical mechanisms of SMA; early proof-of-concept therapeutic approaches; and novel research tools, assays and biomarkers. Cure SMA invites scientists from around the world to apply.
Application deadline: September 4, 2026 - The FPWR Grant Program from the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research supports innovative research to advance understanding and treatment of Prader-Willi syndrome and Schaaf-Yang syndrome. Priority areas include genetics, neurobiology, clinical care research and therapeutic development. Applications are accepted from academic, government, nonprofit and for-profit research entities in the United States and internationally.
Application deadline: September 4, 2026 - The Capacity Building in International Dementia Research Program supports institutions/organizations in LMICs to strengthen dementia research capacity (programmatic funding, infrastructure, training). This opportunity is currently open to institutions / organizations in low- and middle-income countries.
Application deadline: September 8, 2026 - The Postdoctoral Fellowships support early-career researchers in any type of basic or translational research relevant to TSC that provides an outstanding opportunity for the trainee’s professional growth. Applicants must have a doctoral-level degree, e.g., MD, PhD, or equivalent, working with and mentored by a Sponsor to do research relevant to TSC. The Sponsor must be tenure-track faculty or an equivalent level at a research institution or company in the USA or worldwide. Candidates must have been a member of the Sponsor’s laboratory for at least 12 months as of the LOI due date. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 8, 2026 - The Multiplex Platforms to Assess Indicators of Micronutrient Status, Inflammation and Infectious Disease challenge supports development of low-cost multiplex laboratory assays for population-level monitoring of micronutrient status, infection, and inflammation. Applications are open to nonprofit organizations, companies, international organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions worldwide. Applications from or in collaboration with institutions in low- and middle-income countries are encouraged.
Application deadline: September 8, 2026 - The Sponsored Events funding from the Biochemical Society supports the independent organization of scientific meetings and training events. Applications are open to Postgraduate, Early Career, Full, and Emeritus members. Events should take place at least six months after the deadline. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 9, 2026 - The Clinical Research Training Scholarships funded by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) are intended for early-career neurologists interested in an academic career in clinical, basic, or translational neurological research. Applicants must have completed their residency or PhD within the past 5 years. Applicants must be members of the AAN and based at accredited neurology institutions in the USA or internationally. This is an annual award.
Application deadline: September 10, 2026 - The Neuroimaging and CSF Biomarker Program from the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation supports development and validation of established biomarkers with a clear clinical need in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Priority areas include PET ligands, CSF biomarkers, MRI approaches, EEG measures and novel biomarkers of neuroinflammation, synaptic integrity, autophagy and TDP-43. Funding is open to researchers and clinicians worldwide at academic medical centers, universities, nonprofits and biotechnology companies.
Letter of intent deadline: September 14, 2026 - The Established Investigator Grant from the National Scleroderma Foundation provides research funding for established investigators worldwide who have an established research funding record. The funding is intended for pilot studies to obtain preliminary data that is likely to generate innovative results to improve our understanding of scleroderma and lead to future large-scale funding. Applicants may request up to 100,000 USD per year for a period of 2 years. This is an annual award.
Application deadline: September 15, 2026 - The ONS Congress® Scholarships from the Oncology Nursing Foundation support registered nurses interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge as a result of attending the ONS Congress and sharing this new knowledge with others. The applicant must be a registered nurse involved in cancer nursing who must be able to attend the 2027 ONS Congress in its entirety (April 14-18, 2027, in Washington, DC). Applications are open to nursing researchers in the USA and worldwide.
Application deadline: September 15, 2026 - The Leadership Scholarships from the Oncology Nursing Foundation support registered nurses, working in oncology, interested in developing their leadership skills to improve cancer care by attending a leadership continuing education program. The leadership course selected by the applicant must be for nursing continuing professional development and cannot be used for credits toward an academic degree. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 15, 2026 - The PeDRA PHACE-LUMBAR Challenge Grant from the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA) in partnership with the PHACE Syndrome Community supports clinical research that improves diagnostic approaches, enhances quality of life, and addresses key aspects of disease burden and management. Open to applicants and projects worldwide.
Application deadline: September 17, 2026 - The 2026 Research Grants from the National Alopecia Areata Foundation support scientists and clinicians pursuing research that improves understanding of alopecia areata and advances the development or discovery of safe and effective treatments and a potential cure. Eligible areas include basic science, translational research, technology, epidemiology, health services, and clinical research. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 17, 2026 - The 2026 Early Career Award from the National Alopecia Areata Foundation supports junior investigators entering alopecia areata research. Applications may address basic science, translational research, technology, epidemiology, health services, or clinical research. Applicants must hold an M.D., D.O., Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Investigators and institutions throughout the world are welcome to apply. Eligible applicants may not have current or previous NIH R-series funding as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on an alopecia areata-focused project.
Application deadline: September 17, 2026 - The Bruce and Jane Walsh Grant in Memory of John Holland supports scientific, scholarly, or applied research and/or educational activities investigating how personality, culture, and environment influence work behavior and health (mental and physical). Preference will be given to early career psychologists no more than 10 years postdoctoral, and pilot projects that, if successful, would be strong candidates for support from major federal and foundation funding agencies, and “demonstration projects” that promise to generalize broadly to similar settings in other geographical areas and/or to other settings. The award provides 19,000 USD. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 18, 2026 - Wellcome Prize for Mental Health Science with Nature seeks to accelerate the development, adoption and policy prioritization of effective interventions for anxiety, depression and psychosis. The award further wishes to generate enthusiasm for mental health science among policymakers, funders and the public, thereby encouraging greater investment in research. The Prize is open to research teams developing new, effective interventions for anxiety, depression or psychosis. Applications are open to universities, research institutions, nonprofits and/or small- and medium- sized enterprises. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 18, 2026 - The Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program - Platform Clinical Translation Award from the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to have a significant impact on the treatment or management of a disease or condition. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 22, 2026 - The National Glaucoma Research program from BrightFocus Foundation supports U.S. and international researchers pursuing pioneering research to improve understanding, prevention, and treatment of glaucoma. The Postdoctoral Fellowship is intended for postdoctoral researchers and clinician-scientists in the final stages of mentored training. The Standard Award supports researchers who have generated preliminary data; postdoctoral fellows may apply as co-principal investigator.
Application deadline: September 24, 2026 - The Cancer Research UK's Therapeutic Catalyst supports academic researchers working to translate laboratory discoveries into novel adult-cancer therapeutics using antibody or small-molecule approaches. Academic researchers based at universities or research institutes worldwide may apply. Applicants should have their own laboratory and/or conduct independent research.
Application deadline: September 25, 2026 - The LCRF Award on Advancing Breakthroughs in ALK-Positive Lung Cancer supports mechanistic questions and developmental therapeutics across the care continuum and has the potential to increase survivorship. Proposals for this grant should include a program of correlative, translational research that will enhance the understanding of ALK-driven lung cancers. Applications are open to qualified researchers worldwide. Investigators must be affiliated with a nonprofit academic or research institution.
Application deadline: September 29, 2026 - The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program - Clinical Outcomes and Biomarkers Award supports the development and/or validation of clinical outcomes and biomarkers to enrich clinical trials in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Projects can be relevant to a specific therapy, a class of therapeutics, or to a specific ALS subtype (such as a particular genetic mutation) and do not have to broadly apply to all patients. The program is open to independent researchers in the USA and worldwide.
Application deadline: September 30, 2026 - The ISHLT Early Career & Trainee Research Grant on Molecular and/or Genetic Biomarkers for Advanced Organ Failure & Post-Transplant Care supports research focused on the novel clinical implications and/or utility of non-invasive molecular and/or genetic testing for patients with advanced organ failure or in post-transplant care. The grant aims to encourage studies addressing pre-transplant, post-transplant, and/or mechanical circulatory support (MCS) patient populations. Applications are open to early career faculty (whose training was completed fewer than six years ago) or a mentored trainee worldwide.
Application deadline: September 30, 2026 - The ISHLT International Visiting Scholarship supports the exchange of knowledge and techniques in heart and lung transplantation and the treatment of end-stage heart and lung failure. The scholarship may support learning in a clinic, operating room or laboratory and is intended to build relationships between individuals, institutions and countries. The applicant, relevant department or host must meet ISHLT membership requirements, and the scholarship recipient must be an ISHLT member at the time of funding. Priority is given to international exchanges.

International Pediatric Nephrology Association 2027 Congress Travel Grants
The IPNA 2027 Congress Travel Grants from the International Pediatric Nephrology Association support attendance at the March 9-13, 2027 IPNA Congress in Kyoto, Japan. Applicants must be active IPNA members from developing or emerging countries, actively involved in pediatric nephrology care and able to attend in person. Applicants who submit an abstract will receive priority.

ESCMID Mentorship Programme
The ESCMID Mentorship Programme connects Young Scientist Members and members from low- or lower-middle-income countries with experienced mentors in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. Mentorships may support career planning, scientific development, academic publishing, data analysis, grant and fellowship applications, and professional networking. Applicants must be ESCMID Young Scientist Members or members from low- or lower-middle-income countries. They may apply for an in-country or out-of-country mentorship, must not have previously received funding through the program, and may not be at the same institution as or already collaborating with the selected mentor.
