Project Description

Leveraging the experiences and successes from Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and Nursing Education Partnership Initiative (NEPI) programs that have been implemented within the College of Health Science (CHS) at Addis Ababa University (AAU), the Health-Professional Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) program envisages to build capacity at a consortium of Ethiopian universities in areas of multidisciplinary team training, research training and mentorship in implementation science, and qualitative methodology. The program will eventually be instrumental in facilitating team-based service delivery as well as contribute to the improvement of retention in rural areas of the full range of the health workforce required to address the prevailing double burden of communicable diseases and emerging noncommunicable diseases.

All awards through the Health-Professional Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) are supported by the U.S. Department of State's Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Health Diplomacy, which leads, manages and oversees the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
