Project Description
In Africa, only a few scientists possess the necessary training in epidemiology, molecular pathology, biostatistics, and implementation science to conduct population-based and mechanistic studies on breast cancer prevention. This research training program aims to address this gap by leveraging over a decade of collaboration between Malian and U.S. investigators at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. The goal of this Mali-Northwestern University Breast Cancer Prevention (MN-BCP) research training program is to develop and implement contextually appropriate and culturally adaptive strategies for breast cancer prevention with the aims to advance breast cancer research and improve public health outcomes in Mali and other similar settings.
