Program Overview

The Fogarty Global Trauma and Injury Research Training Program aims to strengthen injury and trauma research capacity at academic institutions in LMICs.

Research training can include long-, medium- and short-term training in various trauma and injury priority areas that are currently underdeveloped at a given LMIC institution. Eligible focus areas are broad, including physical and psychological trauma and injury. Some examples include, but are not limited to: prevention, acute and long-term treatment, and rehabilitation of trauma and injury (intentional and unintentional); intimate partner, domestic and gender-based violence; childhood injuries; policy; and implementation science.

New programmatic areas of interest for the 2021 application cycle include impact of humanitarian and natural disasters on trauma and injury, and rehabilitation. View the program announcement for complete details about eligible types of training.
