Fogarty seeks input to update its strategic plan
May / June 2012 | Volume 11, Issue 3
Fogarty is requesting input from its grantees, the broader global health research community and the general public, as the Center prepares to revise its strategic plan, last updated in 2008. The goal of the planning process is to identify current and future needs and directions for global health research and research training.
The Center is seeking advice on the specific gaps, needs and opportunities it should address in the next five to 10 years in the broad areas of global health research and research training.
In addition, Fogarty is interested in topical suggestions related to the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), mobile technologies (mHealth) and distance learning in research and research training. The Center is also seeking input regarding research and research training in infectious diseases, as well as chronic, non-communicable diseases. In addition, Fogarty would like advice on how to strengthen the research-enabling environment at research institutions in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs) and encourage greater collaboration among them.
Comments and suggestions may be submitted by email to FICStratPlan@mail.nih.gov until June 30, 2012.
