Dr. Gretchen L. Birbeck holds an endowed professorship in neurology and is research director of the Epilepsy Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She also is adjunct faculty in the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Center for Human Experimental Therapeutics. Dr. Robert C. Bollinger, professor of infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) School of Medicine, is founding director of JHU's Center for Clinical Global Health Education and associate director of the Center for Global Health. He holds joint appointments at the JHU's Bloomberg School of Public Health and School of Nursing. Since the 1990s, Bollinger has led Fogarty-funded HIV research training programs in India that have trained more than 2,000 Indian scientists.
Dr. Robert Einterz is associate dean for global health at Indiana University (IU) and director of the IU Center for Global Health. Einterz is a professor of global health and clinical medicine. He is director of the AMPATH Consortium, a group of North American academic centers working with Kenya's Moi University and teaching hospital to deliver health care, conduct research and develop health care leaders for the U.S. and Africa.
John T. Monahan is senior advisor for global health to the president of Georgetown University and a senior fellow and scholar with its McCourt School of Public Policy and O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health, for which he was the founding executive director. Monahan has served as an advisor at the U.S. Department of State, and as a counselor to the Secretary and Director of Global Health Affairs at HHS.
